GEORGE BEST 1967/68 MATCH WORN #11 MANCHESTER UNITED HOME JERSEY WITH MEMORABILIA - This incredible lot includes the following items: (1) A George Best 1967/68 Match Worn #11 Manchester United Home jersey. In the 1967/68 season Best was at his peak in Old Trafford during which he was voted as the Ballon d'Or winner in that year. The jersey is still in good condition for its age. This garment was originally obtained via a Sportsmen’s Dinner in the Greater Manchester area attended by MUFC squad members, and remained in a private collection for decades. The item will come presented in a lovely black gift box for future safe-keeping. The jersey comes with a certificate of authenticity. (2) A pair of red Umbro shorts used by George Best in a training session in the 1970/71 season, see accompanying photo. (3) A September 18th 1971 match programme of the Manchester United v West Ham United match. The programme is signed by George Best and he inscribed it by "3" denoting the hat-trick he scored in that match! (4) A 15th January 1972 match programme of the Manchester United v Southampton match. (5) A 1st January 1974 match programme of Manchester United v Queens Park Rangers match. This was Best's last match with the United club. (6) A pair of two tickets for the Manchester United v Benfica final match of the European Cup that was held on May 29th, 1968. (7) A 3rd April 2002 Conferment of the Honorary Freedom of the Borough on George Best medal in its jewel case together with its accompanying booklet.
